Needle Threading Solutions
Sewing and embroidery machines that have been developed in the last 10-15 years are fantastic!! They have all the bells and whistles I like to use and cannot do without!!! One feature that I cannot live without is my needle threader. It saves time with every single thread change, especially when stitching embroidery designs! :)
But some of you may have those old sewing machines without all the fancies, but it still gives you a great stitch! Sewing About.com has some solutions listed for threading the needle on machines without that prized needle threader!
Keeping a piece of white paper next to your sewing machine can be a great help! Just set the paper behind the needle with one hand and thread the needle with the other. This white background makes it a little easier to insert the thread in the needle eye.

Hi there...I nosed my way here from another blog... :)
Oh gosh, I have one of those "old" machines...and my Momma has one of those "fancy" machines! I think it's a Pfaff? Is that how it's spelled? She says it's old now, but she's has it for years. Still, it's computerized, and mine isn't! I think one of my favorite features of her machine is the needle threader...but the one thing I love about hers that I can't stand about mine, is hers has a lil' button she can push, so that every time she stops sewing, the needle stops IN the fabric. Oh that is the handiest darn thing. Even with the embroidery and fancy stitches, it's still my favorite thing about her machine. I can't wait until I've found a way to justify buying one of my own!
quilt mommy,
Yes, the new machines have so many neat features, but above all the needle threader is one I can't do without!! I agree 100%!!!
And the needle up/down button is a lifesaver, especially when stitching on something that you don't want to lose your stitching place or turning a corner!
Hopefully you will be able to own a machine in the future with some of these can't live without features!! :)
