MarJen for Error Embroidered Quilt

Click each block to see a closer photo and a description of the block.

This quilt uses the MarJen for Error magazine by Jenny Haskins, a Creative Expressions Special Edition. It is out-of-print, but there are copies available here.

I created my quilt from the Muted Transitions fabric collection by Benartex.

This is the second MarJen for Error quilt I have stitched. I love the soft and delicate colors of silver and pink these fabrics create!

This quilt has 15 blocks. 8 are the embroidered fan blocks with a floral design in the center and fussy cut fan corner. The other 7 are dresden plate blocks, which consist of fussy cut and non-fussy cut fan pieces. This was a fun techniques to learn and stitch! Decorative stitches are in each and every block. Each block, sashing and border is quilted.

There are two long vertical strips of fabric that have floral embroidery designs trailing down. It is the same design, but turned and rotated to create a continuous line of embroidery. This is easy to do and adds so much to the effect of the quilt!

The vertical and horizontal sashing pieces are quilted by cross-hatching each strip. Here is a closer image:

The outer borders are completely quilted with free motion loops stitched on the fabric. Here is a closer image:
