Create a fun, reversible, no sew blanket and pillow with fleece. Embellish with many different kinds of embroidery designs. A great children's project or fantastic Christmas gift idea!

Adult-
2 yds. main color
58"x72" 2 yds. contrast color

Throw-
1 1/2 yds. main color
58"x54" 1 1/2 yds. contrast color

Baby-

58"x45" 1 1/4 yds. contrast color

Cut selvage edges off sides and straighten cut edges on each piece of fabric. In one corner, mark 18" from the corner point for the embroidery design.

Match the center of the design with the 18" mark and stitch the design. After the design is completed, lay the embroidered piece on top of the contrast fabric, matching the fabric edges. The wrong sides should face each other.

Cut a 4" square from each of the corners through both layers of fabric. Pin fabric edges together.

Draw a parallel line 4" from each fabric edge. Cut 1" wide fringe to the 4" marked line on all the fabric edges. Pin the fleece layers together inside the marked line. Instead of drawing a line, you could also straight stitch a line through both layers of fleece.

Start at one corner and begin to tie the fringe of the two layers together in a double knot. Tie one set, skip one set, tie one, skip one....etc. After half of the fringe is tied together, flip over the blanket and tie the remaining fringe together. Continue this on all four sides.

Now that you have a warm blanket, create a pillow to match!
