Welcome
to my home online! I am not new to blogging since I started
my embroidery blog
several years ago, but thought it might be fun to create another blog
without all the sewing, embroidery and quilting details that
some of you may not be interested in. Hopefully this blog will
give you a glimpse inside my life, my family and my hobbies. But
may it first and foremost bring glory and honor to my Lord and
Savior.
I live in western Kansas with my family and own my online
business,
Embroidery Treasures,
which I started in January 2006. Not only is machine embroidery
and quilting my daily work schedule, but it is also one of my
favorite hobbies among computers, the Internet, electronic
gadgets, reading, baking
and cooking.
The
Lord had blessed with with a wonderful loving father! He not
only provides our family with our physical needs, but also
strives to be the spiritual leader God desires. Whether I need
advice with an issue I am facing or have a flat tire on my car,
I know I can depend on Dad to help me or fix it. He is a
farmer/rancher and grows wheat and milo, along with taking
care of a cow/calf herd. He also holds the title of "Mr.
Fix-It" in our house!
I
am so thankful for the 23 years God gave me with my wonderful
mother before she went home to be with her Lord and Savior on
November 3, 2006! She homeschooled my sisters and myself from
pre-school through our senior year in high school. Not only did
Mom help us through Chemistry and Algebra, but she also
displayed to us a wonderful example of a wife and mother. She
patterned her life after the Biblical Proverbs 31 woman. Some of
the greatest memories I treasure are remembering her jogging in
the morning while memorizing Scripture, reading her Bible every
morning in the family room and seeing her bedroom door shut,
knowing she was inside praying for her family and friends.
My
two sisters - my two best friends! My sisters and I love to
spend time with each other. Whether it is sharing secrets,
all-day shopping trips or just laughing and giggling together on
the couch, we love it! Attending Camp Good News and serving as
counselors and Bible teachers there is one of our favorite times
together. All three of us now live in different states, but
through email, facebook and cell phones, we keep in touch - plus
those get-togethers are extra special times now!! :)
Jena
is a Registered Nurse, working at the
Children's Hospital at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
She has always had a desire to work in the Neo-natal ICU and she
was able to move to Oklahoma City in May 2009 and start working
in that unit. She has always
wanted to follow in Mom's footsteps and become a nurse since she
was young. God has given her a tender and compassionate heart in
caring for people. If anyone in our family needs medical advice,
Jena is the one to ask! On her days off, she loves
scrapbooking and taking photographs. She has also become very
computer savvy in the last couple of years,
writing on her
blog and posting photos online.
Krissa
graduated from Bob Jones
University in South Carolina majoring in print journalism in
May 2008.
God has given her an amazing ability to write and she desires
someday to write for a Christian magazine. Right now she is the
assistant editor of Hobby
Farms magazine in Lexington Kentucky. She loves Kentucky and
truly enjoys the layout and editing of the magazine. Krissa is my computer
and Internet confident. She enjoys computers, software programs
and social networking, just as I do.
My ultimate desire is the serve the Lord Jesus Christ and be
willing to follow His will for my life. I trusted Jesus Christ
as my Savior at the age of 5 and strive to follow Him every
single day.
One of my favorite Bible verses is Isaiah 40:31, But those
who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall
mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be
weary, They shall walk and not faint. I know in and of
myself, I can do nothing. But with the Lord enabling me, I can
do all things for His glory!
